Not a lot is known about Nissan’s next Z-car. Early in December of 2014, Nissan’s vice president and international head of marketing, Roel de Vries, hinted that the 370 Z’s successor might have a variety of engines, depending on a provided market. Then, a week later, word spread that the next Z-Car would be launched as a convertible (they were calling it “The Z”) and would probably have a 2.0-liter, turbocharged, hybrid engine. We’re intending to see the official debut of the next Z by 2018, however until then let’s have a look at our rendering and exactly what we want to see when it makes an official debut in the coming years.
2018 Nissan Z Exterior
As you can see, we think the 2018 Nissan Z will be low slung, and similar to the 370Z, just smaller sized. In advance, you’ll acknowledge a grille much like what we see on the 2016 Nissan Sentra, however for the Z, we’ve expanded on it a bit. Instead of a thin, flat-V-shaped divider, the grille accepts a wider divider with are vents on the sides and a big Nissan symbol right in the middle. The headlights are likewise of a comparable style, however the external points– the ones that point toward the side mirrors– those are longer and more pronounced, giving the car a sportier set of eyes compared with the Sentra.
2018 Nissan Z Interior
I think Nissan is expecting a lot out of its next Z-car, so I believe the interior will be similar to the 2014 to 2015 370z Nismo, however a little better. The infotainment screen display will be of the touchscreen type, with many infotainment functions done on screen– leaving no need for the control panel below the screen on the 370Z. I suspect we’ll see the same Z-branded steering wheel, however it will be enhanced by a sleeker style and, by the time it is released, it might even include some touchscreen manages itself. I suspect the seats will likewise be a mix of leather and Alcantara, but keep in mind that is only early-on speculation. As far as we know, the next Z-car is stated to slot prior to the 370 and 350zs, so it will probably come at a lower rate– eventually causing a less glamorous cabin.
2018 Nissan Z Engine
It needs to be noted, the 2018 Nissan Z will be smaller and lighter, that V-6 could be toned down even more and still provide 0-to-60 mph times in the 5- to six-second variety. Of course, Nissan might develop a whole new V-6 for the next Z-car and if that holds true, who knows what we’ll see under the hood. Either way, I don’t think the brand name will let us down with the decision they make. We just need to wait till the time concerns see exactly what they develop.
2018 Nissan Z Release Date and Price
The new Z is expected to land in showrooms by 2018, with the base model priced in the low-$30,000 range and the twin-turbo nearing $50K.
